Don't let the record cover fool you, there is some serious business going on here. Heavy fuzzed out guitars playing psychy-surfness, insane wildness, cosmic Moogness, deep deep down droneness all jammed though a steaming hot plate of couscous.
Omar Khorshid was probably the most famous and influential electric guitarist in the middle east. He was born in Egypt but recorded most of his output in Lebanon introducing new electric guitar sounds and Moog synth effects to late 60s and 70s Middle-eastern peoples.
He had a heavy duty death too. This is the short version: He played a concert at the Whitehouse for the Egypt/Isreali summit in 1977. After having been seen sitting between Presidents Carter, Begin and Sadat, people started to harass him heavily. He survived a couple assassination attempts but was then killed in a mysterious car crash. He was 35.
