American Primitive & More

Here we have a mix made by my old pal Shubs. A great guy and a stand up gent, all around. He sent me this a couple of days ago after we discussed some new 12-string guitar music he was making. I liked it so much, I asked him if I could post it. Fortunately for you, he obliged:

1. I'm a Poor Boy a long Ways from Home - John Fahey
2. Italian Rag - Rev. Gary Davis
3. Children's Dance - Harry Taussig
4. Cathedrals Et Fleur De Lis - Robbie Basho
5. In the Flower of Our Youth - Richard Crandell
6. She Moved Thru The Bizarre/Blue Raga - Davey Graham
7. The Star of County Down Childgrove - Suni McGrath
8. Red Horse II - Jack Rose
9. Smiling Penguins - Steffen Basho-Junghans
10. Access - Fred Frith
11. Gitane Allegro - Sir Richard Bishop
12. Day at the Fair - Peter Walker

ps. The Shub himself sculpted that giant snowy cock'n'balls last winter in the commons near his home in south London for all to see. Obviously, I am proud of that boy.

  1. sweet sweet shubs! this mix is sweet!

  2. is that pronounced shubs or shoobs?

i am excting to listen although i know not a shubs
